Photography SEO Scorecard

Twenty questions across six areas. You get a score, a breakdown by category and your priorities ranked in the order actually worth fixing them. It takes about three minutes and nothing is stored.

How to use your score

The order matters more than the number.

A score is only useful if it tells you what to do next. The priority list under your result is sorted by how much damage each gap is doing, not by the order the questions were asked.

What the bands mean

  • 75 and above. You are ahead of most photographers. The remaining gains are narrower and mostly about consistency, content volume and authority rather than fixes.
  • 45 to 74. The foundations are partly there. This is the most common result and usually the most rewarding, because the fixes are known and the runway is short.
  • Below 45. Almost everything is fixable and none of it is exotic. Work down the list from the top. Sites in this band often see movement within a couple of months.

Answer honestly, including the not sures

“Not sure” scores the same as “no” deliberately. If you do not know whether your pages are being indexed or whether your business details are consistent across the web, then in practice they are not being managed, and the score should reflect that.

Why foundations come before content

Publishing onto a site that is slow or badly indexed is pouring water into a bucket with a hole in it. If the foundations category scored low, fix that before writing anything new, however tempting the content work looks. That sequencing is the core of how we work.

Questions

Questions photographers ask us.

Is my score stored or emailed anywhere?

No. The whole thing runs in your browser, nothing is sent to a server and there is no email capture. Refresh the page and it is gone.

How accurate is a twenty question self audit?

It is a directional check, not a technical audit. It reliably surfaces the big structural gaps, which is most of the value. It cannot see crawl errors, index bloat, a botched migration or the specifics of your competitive market.

I scored well but I still get no enquiries. What now?

Then the constraint is probably not SEO. It may be that your market is small, that the traffic you get is the wrong intent, or that the site is not converting the visitors it already has. Those are different problems and worth diagnosing before spending more on search.

How often should I retake it?

Quarterly is plenty. Things like review recency and publishing cadence drift over a few months, and the rest changes slowly.
