Our approach
We fix the constraint, not the checklist.
Most SEO proposals are a list of everything that could be done, priced as if all of it matters equally. It never does. There is usually one thing holding a photography site back more than everything else combined, and finding it is the job.
Principles
Five things we hold to.
1. Diagnose before prescribing
We audit before we quote a retainer. Occasionally that audit concludes you do not need us: your site is fine and your problem is pricing, or positioning, or that you are in a town of nine thousand people where the search volume simply is not there. We would rather say that than sell twelve months of work that cannot succeed.
2. Fewer pages, built properly
The old playbook was volume: fifty location pages, one per town, city name swapped. That approach now actively harms sites. We build fewer pages that genuinely deserve to rank, because eight good ones reliably outperform fifty thin ones and carry no risk.
3. Specifics are the whole advantage
Anyone can write “we capture your special day”. Only you can write that the ceremony room at a particular venue loses direct light by four in the afternoon in November. That specificity is what ranks, what converts and what AI systems quote. Most of our content process is extracting it from you efficiently.
4. Report in outcomes, not activity
A report listing forty two tasks completed tells you nothing about whether your business improved. Ours says what moved, what we did, what we are doing next and what it means for bookings. It fits on one screen and you should be able to read it in three minutes.
5. Say the uncomfortable thing early
If your timeline is unrealistic, if your market is too small, if your site needs work you were hoping to avoid, you will hear it in week one rather than month six. This occasionally costs us the sale. It has never once cost us a client.
Process
How an engagement actually runs.
Audit and diagnosis
Two weeks. We examine the site technically, review indexation and speed, pull your existing search data, map the competitive landscape and identify the actual constraint. You get a plain English document with a prioritised list, and it is yours whether or not you continue with us.
Strategy and running order
Two to three weeks. Full keyword and venue mapping, clustered into pages, sequenced by effort against likely return. This is the document the whole engagement runs on and it stays useful for years.
Foundation work
Weeks four to eight. Technical fixes, image and speed work, schema, internal linking, Google Business Profile setup and the first priority pages. This is the least glamorous phase and usually the one that unlocks everything after it.
Build and publish
Ongoing. Pages and posts shipped in the agreed running order, each one written properly, internally linked and indexed. Two to four a month for most engagements.
Measure, report, widen
Monthly. We report on rankings, enquiries and bookings in that order, then decide together what the next month looks like. Once a cluster is working, we replicate the pattern into the next city, venue group or service.
Working together
The practical arrangement.
What we need from you
A short monthly call, access to your site and Google accounts, and roughly an hour a month answering specific questions about venues and shoots. That last hour is where the content advantage comes from and it cannot be outsourced.
What we never do
Buy links, spin near duplicate location pages, keyword stuff your business name, publish unedited AI content or lock you into a twelve month contract to disguise slow progress.
What happens if it is not working
We tell you, with the data, and we change approach. If after a fair run the market genuinely will not support the investment, we will say so and help you exit rather than quietly renewing.
Questions
Questions photographers ask us.
Do you work with photographers outside your own country?
Yes. Search behaviour differs by market, but the mechanics do not. We work in English language markets and adjust for local search patterns, currency, and the directories and venue listing sites that matter in your region.
Will you rebuild my website?
Only if it is genuinely the constraint, and we will tell you plainly if it is. Most sites do not need rebuilding, they need fixing. If you do need a new site we will scope what it must do and work alongside a designer you choose.
Who actually does the work?
The person who audits your site is the person who runs your account. There is no handoff to a junior after the sale, which is a large part of why we cap how many photographers we work with at once.
What if I want to stop?
After the initial strategy phase everything is month to month. Give us notice, and you keep every page, document and asset we produced. Nothing is held hostage on our systems.
